In this episode, Dan and Lauren speak with Dr. V. Chunoo, outgoing Assistant Professor of Organizational and Community Leadership at the University of Illinois and Associate Editor of New Directions for Student Leadership.
During the conversation, Chunoo explains how the priority filled a gap in the literature calling for an increase in socially just and critically oriented perspectives in leadership education. He highlighted how working together, respectfully and professionally, as a writing team produced a clear and detailed call for future research. The priority calls for rigorous and uplifting research and for researchers to engage in either evolution or revolution.
Chunoo is the lead author and part of the writing team for Priority Number 2, titled “Evolution and Revolution: Social Justice and Critical Theory in Leadership Education Research: Priority 2 of the National Leadership Education Research Agenda 2020-2025.”
This episode is part of a series of conversations with the lead authors of the nine priorities of the National Leadership Education Research Agenda (NLERA) 2020-2025, published in Volume 14, issue 3, of the Journal of Leadership Studies.
